A well trained dog is a HAPPY dog!

We now offer a complete canine service.  Whatever your requirements, training, behaviour, walking, pet sitting or grooming we can help.

We can also supply handcrafted unique beds, play pens, activity boards, clothing and much more, just ring with your requirements.

Group Dog  Training - Group Dog Training takes place at Thirkleby Manor, five days per week.  There are various classes running throughout the year including, puppy socialisation, pet obedience, clicker training, gundog and agility. All classes are small with a maximum of 6 dogs and handlers ensuring you get plenty of personal attention.  For details of forthcoming classes and fees see the "Course dates" page. At Thirkleby Manor classes are held in the training barn where there is full size agility equipment.  The surface is sand so please wear suitable footwear!  There is ample parking in the yard and some classes will have the advantage of being able to move out to the paddock if the weather permits.

Design Your Own Dog Training Group - if you have a group of friends who would like to train their dogs together, this can be arranged either in a hall local to you or during the summer months in a garden.  Fees are dependent on numbers.

Individual Training For You and Your Dog- if you can't make it to the classes, or you are worried that your dog isn't, as yet, sufficiently socialised to mix with other dogs. Christine can arrange to meet with you for one to one training  at your home.  Fees are £30.00 (plus travel expenses) for a 45/60 minute session.  If you are outside the Malton area there will be a charge for travel expenses.  One to one sessions can also be held at Thirkleby Manor to avoid travel charges.

Residential Training For Dogs - haven't got the time to train your dog?  Then leave him/her with us and we will teach your dog for you. All you have to do is spend a few hours with us at the end of the residential training period and we will show you what we have taught your dog and how you can maintain this at home.  Dogs need to stay for a minimum of 3 weeks.   Fees start at £800.00.

Dogs with behavioural problems are also taken but may have to stay longer than the minimum 3 weeks required for basic training.  Fees start at £800.00.  Your dog will be assessed during the first week.  If a longer period is needed than 3 weeks each week will be charged at £275.00.

For all residential training courses it may be necessary to use alternative equipment, eg harnesses and leads.  If this is necessary these will be invoiced and should be paid for before your dog is collected at the end of the training course.

Canine Behaviour Consultancy - has your dog developed behaviour problem(s) which you don't know how to deal with?  Christine will visit you in your own home to observe you with your dog and discuss the behaviour problems your dog has developed.  She will then put together a programme for you in order to overcome the problem(s) and help you build a special relationship with your dog.  Prices from £150.00 plus travel expenses.

Clinics - a variety of clinics, eg clicker, agility, htm, behaviour will be held at the centre.  Spend the weekend in the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds and teach both your dog and yourself in these wonderful surroundings.  Local B&B and kennelling available.

In 2008 we were lucky enough to host a Clicker Gundog Workshop with Helen Phillips (Author of Clicker Gundog), which was a great success.  12 dogs and handlers and a number of spectators enjoyed a day with Helen who is an excellent teacher and has agreed to return this year.

Deluxe Kennels - Development of the kennels is now complete and we received our first visitors in mid June 2007. If you would like details of the kennels please contact us or see our webpage on kennels.

Bookings are already being taken for Christmas/New Year 2010 - so don't wait util the last minute.

Dog Walking - Don't have time to walk your dog?  Let us take care of it for you. Rest assured your dog will be well looked after while enjoying a walk with either Christine or Paul.  Dogs can be walked either with a group or individually.

Grooming - Christine is now a qualified groomer.  With our state of the art hydrobath she can wash away the dirt and grime from your dog's coat, remove all the loose and unwanted hair that accumulates in your home.  For those requiring specialist grooming Christine offers clipping, scissoring and hand stripping.  Your requirements will be fully discussed when you leave your dog in our care.
